Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and current social distancing guidelines, we’re not able to convene as a large group for the 8th Annual Purple Event. In its place, the West Michigan Cyber Security Consortium (WMCSC) and the Cyber Hub at WMCAT are hosting a re-imagined hybrid event.
Join us the afternoon of September 17 for a variety of short technical and non-technical presentations and demonstrations that we’re calling EVENT-19: A Purple-ish Event!
Each year, the WMCSC’s annual Purple Event is an opportunity to bring its members together to connect, learn, and practice together by participating in a cyber competition that tests their the Red Team and Blue Team skills. Whether they’re a practicing information security professional, administrator, executive, or just getting starting in their IT-focused career, we try to make sure there’s something for everyone.
Since we’re transitioning to a virtual event this year, we want to engage more of the general public beyond just our membership and make sure this event is accessible to our entire community! Are you a student, a parent, or just an individual interested in exploring IT and cybersecurity-oriented careers? If so, this event is for you and you’re highly encouraged to join us and participate! We want this year’s Purple-ish event to be open to all members of our community so that we can highlight the importance of (and high-earning potential of careers in) cybersecurity! And if you’re still looking to scratch your cyber competition itch, we’ll be running a small Capture The Flag (CTF) challenge in the background as well.
