Merit Network, Inc.

Merit Network is a non-profit, Member-owned organization governed by Michigan’s 12 public universities. Founded in 1966, Merit owns and operates America’s longest-running regional research and education network – comprised of more than 4,000 miles of fiber-optic infrastructure – in addition to the Michigan Cyber Range. Merit provides network, security and community services to their 300+ affiliate members throughout the State of Michigan. After 50 years of innovation, Merit continues to provide high-performance services to the educational communities in Michigan and beyond.

Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC)

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is the state’s marketing arm and lead advocate for business development, job awareness, and community development with the focus on growing Michigan’s economy. The MEDC operates the Michigan Defense Center.

The Michigan Defense Center is focused on the support, protection, and growth of Michigan’s defense and homeland security missions and the Michigan businesses that support our nation’s security and our military’s safety. The Michigan Defense Center is the State of Michigan’s lead voice on the defense and homeland security economy and guides the state’s policies and programs to protect and grow this important sector of the economy.

West Michigan Cyber Security Consortium (WMCSC)

The West Michigan Cyber Security Consortium is a multi-jurisdictional and public/private partnership whose purpose is to enhance the prevention, protection, response, and recovery to cyber security threats, disruptions, and degradation to critical information technology functions.

Formed in 2010 to improve cyber security information sharing among businesses, emergency management professionals, law enforcement, and the broader West Michigan community, the WMCSC follows the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) voluntary Cybersecurity Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure to plan meetings, activities, and projects to educate the community and protect the critical infrastructure of West Michigan.
